Instead of filling in the panel field by field, connect Talkano to the AI assistant you already use and add your business information by chatting: “crawl this site and fill it in”, “add these Q&As”, “make my assistant sound friendly”. Setup takes about 2 minutes and is available on every plan.

Connect with Claude

On a computer, go to claude.ai → Settings → Connectors. Shortcut: claude.ai/settings/connectors

Click “Add custom connector”.

In the window that opens, type Talkano into the first box (name) and paste https://talkano.ai/api/mcp into the second box (Remote MCP server URL).

Leave “Advanced settings” alone — OAuth Client ID / Secret must stay empty. Click Add.

On the Talkano sign-in screenthat opens, sign in with an email code or Google (or sign up if you don't have an account) and click Allow. If the sign-in screen doesn't open by itself, click Connect next to Talkano in the connector list.

Connect with ChatGPT

Do the setup in a browser at chatgpt.com, not in the desktop or mobile app. Depending on your ChatGPT version this section is called Connectors, Apps or Plugins; they are all the same place.

First turn on Developer mode: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. If you can't find it, type developerinto the search box in Settings. (Business accounts may need an admin's permission.)

Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and click the “+” (Create / Add) button.

Enter Talkano in the Name box and https://talkano.ai/api/mcp in the MCP server URL box.

Choose OAuth as the authentication, tick “I trust this provider” and click Create.

On the Talkano sign-in screen that opens, sign in / sign up and click Allow.

To use it in a chat, turn Talkano on from the “+” menu in the message box and try: “Show me a summary of my knowledge base in Talkano”.

Connect with Gemini (Gemini CLI)

Mac / Windows / Linux · command line

The Gemini web app doesn't support custom connectors yet, so you connect through the Gemini CLI. You need Node.js 20+ on your computer (download it from nodejs.org if you don't have it). Command line: Terminal on Mac/Linux, PowerShell on Windows. When web support arrives, the address will stay the same.

Install the Gemini CLI: npm install -g @google/gemini-cli (on Windows, if you get a permission error, open PowerShell as administrator).

Add Talkano: gemini mcp add --transport http talkano https://talkano.ai/api/mcp

Type geminito start it. On first use your browser opens by itself; if it doesn't, type /mcp auth talkano inside Gemini.

Other MCP clients

If you use another app that supports MCP (for example a code editor), add the same address as an HTTP (Streamable HTTP) MCP server; the sign-in screen opens by itself. No API key or token to paste. Security and limits

Your password isn't shared. You sign in on Talkano's own screen; the assistant only works with the access you grant.
The connection belongs to your account and can reach every business you're a member of. If you have more than one, tell the assistant which one to work in.
To add information you need to be the Owner or an Admin of that business; the Agent role can only view the summary.
Plan limits apply as usual. When a limit is reached the assistant tells you and suggests the next plan up. Very fast bulk adding also hits an hourly limit; wait a little and carry on.
The assistant doesn't delete. It adds new information and updates settings; deleting and editing existing entries is done in the panel.
To disconnect: in the panel go to Settings → Connections and click Disconnect next to the assistant. The business owner can also disconnect team members' connections there. If a connection goes unused for 30 days, the assistant asks you to sign in again.

If you get stuck

No “Add custom connector” option: In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode first. Do the setup in a computer browser (claude.ai / chatgpt.com), not in the mobile or desktop app. If the option still isn't there, your account type may not support it.

“Couldn't connect” / error: Make sure the address is exactly https://talkano.ai/api/mcp, with no trailing space or extra characters. In Claude, the “Advanced settings” fields must stay empty.

The sign-in screen doesn't open: Turn off the browser's pop-up blocker for this site and try again.

The assistant doesn't use Talkano: Check that Talkano is turned on in the chat's tools menu (in ChatGPT, the “+” menu in the message box). Saying “in Talkano…” explicitly in your request also helps.

“You have more than one business”: Tell the assistant which business to work in (e.g. “add it to my Sample Guesthouse business”).

“You need to be the owner or an admin”: You have the Agent role in that business. Ask the owner to make you an Admin.

“Plan limit” warning: You've reached your plan's limit. Delete entries you don't need in the panel or upgrade your plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini connect securely to outside services. All you do is add Talkano’s address to your assistant, sign in and allow access.

Will ChatGPT or Claude now reply to my customers?

No. This connection is only for YOU to manage your business. Your customers on Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and your website are still answered by your Talkano assistant; nothing changes on your channels.

Can I connect if I don’t have a Talkano account?

Yes. On the Talkano sign-in screen that opens while connecting, you can sign up with your email on the spot. Then just tell your assistant “Create a business for me in Talkano”.

Does it cost anything?

On Talkano’s side, the MCP connection is available on every plan; what you add stays within your plan’s limits. Which Claude and ChatGPT account types can add custom connectors is up to those companies.

Is my password shared with the AI assistant?

No. You sign in on Talkano’s own screen; the assistant never sees your password and only works with the access you grant. You can disconnect it from the panel at any time.

Can the assistant delete or change my information?

The assistant adds new information and updates settings such as the assistant’s persona and working hours; it doesn’t delete or edit existing Q&As, products or documents. Deleting and editing is done in the panel.
